I apologize to anyone who has checked this lately and has realized that I haven't updated.
The first week after finding out about being pregnant I had some emotional issues but nothing like it has been week 7. I started getting really gaggy and I had my first experience with morning sickness. It is a mystery to me why they call it "morning" sickness when I was throwing up all day long. It was a fun 48 hour period of time when I really couldn't keep anything down and the toilet became my best friend. Finally the nurse from the doctor's office called me back and put me on a couple things that made me do a 180. I have only gagged twice in two days! I think this is a new record or something for me.
Funny story...
Let me preface this with saying that at the time I was not having much fun with it but I know my family sure did get a kick out of it. We were at Macaroni Grill to celebrate my mom's birthday. I was very excited about eating at this newly opened place, but when I opened the menu nothing looked good to me. So I ordered mozzarella cheese sticks and a side salad with honey mustard dressing. The cheese sticks were good however when I got my salad that was a whole different story. I took one bite and began to cry. I immediately hid my face because I knew how ridiculous it was to be crying over my salad. The reason I was crying was because it tasted just like vomit. If you have ever had one of those vomit flavored Jelly Bellies, this is exactly what my salad tasted like. My family got the best chuckle at my expense. Of course I can laugh about it now but at the time I wanted to scream at all of them and then just run over to a corner to cry and of course try not to throw up.
Biggest annoyance...
My biggest annoyance so far are smells. The worst part about it is that I know that at one point before being pregnant I loved the smells of so many wonderful things. Even Josh's cologne sends me into gags. This used to send me into something else but we all know where that got us! The silliest little smells send me running towards the nearest sink or bathroom. Opening the fridge is the worst part about my day. I don't know if its the thought, sight, or smell of the food but whatever it is I can't take it. This is especially bad in the mornings.
I really think I can start to see some what of a little pooch sticking out. I showed it to my mom, who didn't see a thing, and I think she thinks its all in my head. Maybe it is but its funny to imagine what I am going to look like with a humongous belly sticking out.
I have a really bad case of spring fever at the moment. I cannot wait until things start to turn green again and the weather becomes nice enough to take the dog on a walk at night without bundling up. I think I also know that when Spring comes so will the belly and the 2nd trimester, when I finally start to feel better!
Hope everyone is doing well!

I loved this post. I continually check it to see how things are going. Its crazy how some women get morning sickness and some dont. My mom only had it once with twins....and no stretch marks. Lucky dog right! I hope I get her luck when I am pregnant. I love reading your stories. Keep us updated the best you can. I know you are so busy. Hope the morning sickness gets better. ANDI
Hey Maria! This is too funny. It really reminds me of you and makes me miss you more! I have heard that morning sickness happens more often when you are having a girl, but who knows...I hope everything is going well. I need to find a weekend to go to Springfield to visit. I really miss seeing you! Hope you feel better. Just remember that it is all well worth it!
Congrats Maria!! Oh I remember the smell thing like it was yesterday. I have a page in Cohen's baby book of all of the places I threw up during the first trimester! From our bathroom to Vegas, I left a trail of vomit! The smell of Nutrise shampoo still makes me gag. I hope you are feeling better and best wishes for a healthy and FUN pregnancy.
