We found out on the 18th of March that we are expecting a little boy, Hayden James, in August!! We are as excited as we can be. I felt like a giddy little school girl that entire day after we found out. I couldn't stop smiling at and kissing Josh. If you know anything about my side of the family, you should know that there is a shortage of males for sure. I have 2 sisters who each have a daughter. I was the last hope for a boy. I figured why not have a boy the first time around and then we wouldn't have to have any pressure to have a boy after that.
We had quite the entourage with us at our ultrasound appointment. It was me and Josh, my mom, his mom, his sister, and his sister's 3 month old Lily. The ultrasound lady showed us everything other than his privates first. It was great to see everything else however I was very nervous about finding out the sex so it all seems like a blur. The ultrasound tech was very witty and when she was at the brain she said, "Well the baby has a brain and it looks normal so it must not be a boy." Then when she went to the genitals she said, "It's a miracle he's got a brain and a hangy thing!" I started bawling, my mom started crying, and Josh's mom screamed. It was quite the sight in that small little room. I am sure the lady was glad to see us go.
Everything is measuring very normal and everything looks good so far. I am starting to feel little movements here and there. Today I was laying down for a nap and Hayden wasn't ready to nap. I had a soda at lunch which must have got him going. It felt like he was doing backflips in my belly. It is a miraculous feeling that I can't quite describe.
I can't believe I am going to be 18 weeks on Friday. It seems like it is going so quickly already. Especially now that I feel like I am sitting on top of the world. I feel great and have energy! The birds are literally singing now.
Hope all is well for everyone! Have a great Easter!

I love that feeling...the one you can't quite explain. That little 'flutter' in your belly. I loved being pregnant for that very reason! Congrats on the boy! I bet the outnumbered males are ecstatic!!
